FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Things people often ask
What do I need to prepare for my first chiropractic appointment?
No special preparation is needed! At your first visit, we’ll ask detailed questions to fully understand your health concerns. This includes your current symptoms, medications, medical history, past surgeries and any previous treatments you’ve had. If you have any relevant scans (like X-Rays or MRIs), it’s helpful to bring them along. They give us a clearer clinical picture and help us tailor your care.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear something comfortable that you can move in easily. There’s no need to undress for your assessment; we can complete a thorough examination while you remain fully clothed.
How do chiropractors treat you?
Chiropractic care is all about identifying and addressing the root cause of your discomfort. We use a variety of safe, gentle techniques chosen specifically for your needs. This might include hands-on adjustments, soft tissue work, gentle instrument-assisted techniques and personalised exercises to support your recovery. All techniques are tailored you.
What happens during my appointment?
Your chiropractor will start with a full health history and lifestyle review, followed by a thorough orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic examination. We assess how your joints, muscles and nerves are functioning to form an accurate diagnosis and recommend the best course of care. If needed, we may use on-site X-Ray imaging for a clearer view of your spine and joints. Your care plan may also include:
• Rehabilitation exercises
• Posture and ergonomic advice
• Lifestyle recommendations for long-term results
Chiropractic is a non-invasive, drug-free approach to health and wellbeing.
What is a chiropractic adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment is a gentle, targeted movement applied to your spine or other joints to improve alignment, reduce pain and restore mobility. Your chiropractor may also recommend exercises and stretches to address underlying causes and support lasting results.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
How many sessions will I need?
This really depends on you, your body and your goals. Everyone responds to care differently, and the number of sessions needed can vary based on factors like how long you’ve had the issue, how your body responds to treatment, your overall health and whether you’re looking for relief, rehabilitation, or long-term wellness. At your first visit, we’ll take a detailed history and carry out a thorough examination to understand what’s going on. From there, we’ll recommend a personalised care plan based on what we find, your lifestyle and what you want to achieve.
