Stay on Track with Your Wellness Goals

We are nearing the end of November and almost ready to welcome the Christmas holiday. The holidays mean that to-do lists get longer, roads get busier, and events, dinners and parties become more frequent. December is easily an overwhelming and exhausting time, but that’s no reason to let go of healthy habits and abandon your wellness goals.

We are always reminding our patients to take care of their bodies, but we want to emphasize this care leading up to and during the Christmas holiday.

One of the best pieces of advice we can give is to be prepared for the holiday. We all know that December is a busy month, so the best way to keep on track of your wellness goals this year is to anticipate all the naughty habits you might adopt. If you prepare in advance, you will minimize your stress levels and be able to manage your diet and exercise plans better.

  • Instead of rushing to buy presents for all your family members, shop now to avoid stress and exhaustion. By mid-December, shopping centers become extremely busy, which mean longer lines and overall shopping madness that you probably don’t want to encounter.
  • Don’t forget to also have healthy nutrition in mind before the Christmas holiday arrives. Pinpoint your weak spots with food – what treats are your weakness? What nutritious alternatives can you eat or make instead? Better food choices also mean a better chance at boosting your immune system and protecting yourself against the flu.
  • And if you know you’re going to be doing less exercise during the Christmas season, slowly minimize your fitness routine to a manageable amount before then. It’s better to reduce your load instead of cutting it out completely. This way, when you start to build momentum again in the spring, it will be less of a challenge and more of an adjustment.
  • Last but not least, don’t miss any of your Chiropractic adjustments. Even if you’re on track of your wellness goals, it’s good to maintain your chiropractic care for the best overall health!
